After more than two years of work, yesterday's justification visit by the CDTI marks the final milestone in the development of this ambitious project, whose initial objective was the development of a non-invasive, real-time detection system to determine the presence of microbiological contamination and/or foreign bodies in beef and pork, as well as to infer the diet of Iberian pigs, using hyperspectral technology.
Finally, two validation prototypes have been developed, one for each type of industry involved in the project, and the design of a commercial solution for each of them, with the necessary characteristics to be able to incorporate them into the production chain.
Prototype of the swine industry

- Microbiological contamination has been determined, up to a level of absence/presence with an error of 1%, always with false positives.
- The type of feed in Iberian pigs has been determined by determining two compounds with 5% and 1%.
- A validation prototype has been built to test it in the plant.
- A commercial 3D prototype has been built to be suitable for implementation in industry, with the calculation of necessary structures and costs.
- Analysis and design work has been carried out on the software components of the various systems that make up the HYQUM platform.
- Possible improvements have been made to the traceability and data management system.
Vaccine industry prototype

- Microbiological contamination has been determined, up to a level of absence/presence with an error of 5%, always with false positives.
- The detection of foreign bodies, both intrinsic and extrinsic, has been carried out.
- The prototype has been built and validated online, under real working conditions.
- A commercial 3D prototype has been built to be suitable for implementation in industry, with the calculation of necessary structures and costs.
- Analysis and design work has been carried out on the software components of the various systems that make up the HYQUM platform.
- Possible improvements have been made to the traceability and data management system.
The project has been subsidized by the CDTI and supported by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness with aid co-financed by ERDF funds through the “Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020” and CDTI's own funds.
