The DISAVIT project wins the award for best publication presented at ICIAAI 2021

On January 21st, the DISAVIT project participated in the International Conference on Smart Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence, held in Amsterdam. This project, funded by the Eurostars-2 joint program and co-financed by CDTI and the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Framework Programme, will be implemented by the consortium formed by SOLTEL (ES), SEACON(HU) and BEIA(RU).

DISAVIT It proposes a novel product to improve environmental sustainability and the performance of grape cultivation, aimed at a new market characterized by emerging technologies.

The article “Development of an Intelligent Decision Support System for Smart Viticulture” was presented at the event – C. M. Balaceanu, G. Suciu, C. S. Bosoc, O. Orza, C. Fernandez, Z. Viniczay.

presentacion

Our article was published in the World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology, and at the conference it was recognized with the award for best publication, which is a great incentive for the development of the project and gives us a good perspective of the interest that this type of initiative arouses in the field of applied research in the agri-food sector.

Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) represents the best option for smart vineyard applications, although the necessary technologies for development must be integrated. This article is based on the research and results obtained in the DISAVIT project. For Smart Agriculture, the project aims to provide a reliable, intelligent, and integrated vineyard management solution based on the Internet of Things. This solution has proven useful for smart environmental management, historical profiling and analysis, monitoring, profitability management, security considerations, and environmental pollution detection. The main innovative technical aspects of this project are the adoption of a platform-agnostic approach to enhance interoperability using multiprotocol technology (representing the future of IoT wireless connectivity); the design for long-term deployments (modular and scalable); and the provision of a trusted environment that addresses cybersecurity, IoT-based threats, and traceability by design based on blockchain. DISAVIT addresses the need for a more climate-adapted and resilient agriculture by promoting the adoption of improved management tools based on objective, data-driven decisions, while leveraging the opportunities created by the digital services market for smart agricultural management. The solution aims to improve decision-making, performance, and costs of wine-growing infrastructure, and enhance the interoperability and accuracy of real-time data. Innovative features such as comprehensive solutions, adaptability, scalability, security, and traceability give our product a competitive edge. None of the existing solutions on the market meet all these requirements, making it a unique and innovative product.
