What is the IHSM?
IHSM is a co-educational institute of Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Malaga (UMA) who is dedicated to the study of subtropical and Mediterranean crops. Its activity is based on the generation of knowledge and the transfer of technology to improve the production and quality of these crops.
The IHSM was created to unite the efforts of groups from the pre-existing La Mayora Experimental Station of the CSIC and groups from various departments of the UMA. In this way, scientific research was strengthened and coordinated more efficiently in intensive horticulture and subtropical fruit growing that had been developing in both entities.
