SOLTEL joins AGROTECH DIGITAL INNOVATION HUB

On June 15th, Soltel joined the Agrotech ecosystem, with the aim of promoting the development of new initiatives in the agrotech sector.

The Andalucía Agrotech Digital Innovation Hub is the largest regional ecosystem in Europe for accelerating, supporting, and channeling innovation in the agri-food sector. It is a leading public-private initiative in the field of agrotechnology, promoted by the Regional Government of Andalusia to accelerate the implementation of digitalization in the agri-food value chain. It comprises more than 140 partners from the various sectors of the quadruple helix: public administration, centers of excellence, businesses and associations, and civil society.

The initiative falls within the framework of the Smart Specialisation Strategy for Agrifood, which includes the Thematic Partnership on Traceability and Big Data in the agrifood value chain, a working group led by the Andalusian region for the adoption of digital technologies and the creation of value from data. It is a member of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre's Digital Innovation Hub catalogue, which includes more than 250 Digital Innovation Hubs.

Andalucía Agrotech DIH is an open ecosystem, designed as a collaborative space connecting talent, businesses, technology, and ideas. The hub will promote training and capacity-building activities, the development of innovation ecosystems, participation in pilot initiatives, leveraging the potential of open government information, identifying needs and studying technology markets, and providing advice on grants and funding strategies.

With the aim of generating and promoting the digital transformation of the agri-food sector, Andalucía Agrotech DIH acts on various technological areas of interest: terrestrial observation and action (Internet of things, connectivity, robotics, etc.); aerial and remote observation (drones, satellites, etc.); information analysis and decision support systems (artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, big data, virtual reality, simulation, etc.); traceability and management (blockchain, ICT, logistics, etc.).

At Soltel, we are confident that our incorporation into the DIH will serve to give greater visibility to our line of work in Precision Agriculture, and to generate synergies with companies and institutions in order to promote the digitalization of the agri-food sector, developing innovative and high value-added services and products.
