The Board's project has a one-year timeframe and seeks innovative solutions to water scarcity.
Soltel is working on the creation and management of an Andalusian platform for receiving, identifying, analyzing, and transferring innovative solutions to the water scarcity caused by drought in Andalusia. This is a project of the regional government called “PLAnd SEQUÍA Andalucía”.
The Regional Ministry of Universities, Research, and Innovation has designed the requirements for this collaborative project, which aims to raise public awareness and combine efforts to offer solutions to the community's water shortage. The initiative revolves around two elements: a web portal and a web tool for managing and monitoring the activity generated by the various technological capabilities incorporated into the platform. The opinions and impact of the proposed solutions will also be carefully considered, and therefore, the monitoring module, which will interpret the contribution records for effective implementation, will be given particular importance.

The website will serve as the platform where individuals and organizations can contribute innovative initiatives to combat drought. The government, through the digital environment, will then connect these initiatives to help them come to fruition.
The project, which is in its initial phase, has a one-year execution period: during the first 3 months the web environment that is now being designed will be developed and in the next 9 months the evolutionary maintenance of the information system will be carried out.
The Andalusian Innovation Platform is open to receiving, identifying, analyzing, and transferring capabilities and solutions to address drought from Andalusian companies and R&D&I agents within the Andalusian Knowledge System (SAC). Its aim is to promote and accelerate knowledge transfer and innovation related to the needs identified as a result of the drought.
The objective of the platform is to collect offers of innovative projects, products or services based on knowledge that can contribute and provide solutions by bringing the needs of supply and innovation closer to the scarcity and demand of water caused by the drought in Andalusia, individually or in collaboration, to take advantage of the results of the Research and Innovation System of Andalusia.
With the PLAnd SEQUÍA Andalusia aims to help prevent the continued increase in drought alerts and their negative impact on the Andalusian population. Through this platform, the needs identified by the Drought Monitoring Commission within its respective areas of responsibility will be made public. These areas include agriculture, fisheries, water and rural development; industry, energy and mining; sustainability, environment and the blue economy; emergencies and civil protection; and land-use planning and housing.
EXPERIENCE WITH COVID
Key to securing this project was Soltel's successful development of the "Plan Covid-19" web environment, the Andalusian platform for receiving, identifying, analyzing, and transferring innovative capabilities and solutions for combating Covid-19, published in https://covid19.aac.es/
This portal will be the basis of “PLAnd DROUGHT Andalusia”, which presents a similar urgency, in its implementation, to that caused by the pandemic.
Previous experience has led Soltel to design an agile approach for the project, not only in terms of programming, but throughout its entire life cycle, which will encourage participation to achieve the planned objectives, so that, based on knowledge, Andalusian citizens, companies, industries and entities can contribute to offering innovative solutions that respond to the needs caused by the drought in Andalusia.
