SOLTEL CREATES AN APP TO MONITOR BEACH OCCUPANCY

The Social Beach App incorporates a communication channel between the city council and the citizens through which information can be provided on beach conditions and rules to be followed when using them while Covid-19 persists.

This software application would allow municipalities to monitor beach occupancy and visitor length, and enable citizens to choose which beach to visit based on available spaces. Soltel is already negotiating with several Andalusian municipalities to implement this app, which will operate using QR codes.

"Given the situation our country is experiencing due to the Covid-19 coronavirus and the climate of concern and uncertainty that surrounds us, we have developed the "Social Beach app to help reactivate tourism safely for all citizens."

Through this app, local councils will be able to restrict the capacity of their beaches, thus complying with the regulations and recommendations of the health authorities at any given time. Likewise, users will have access to valuable information to help them decide which section of the beach to visit based on its real-time occupancy level, using three systems: one for the local council, another for citizens, and a third for beach monitors.

It will also allow users to insert a Google Maps URL with geolocation of the area.

"At a glance, you can even see which people are within their allotted time on the beach, how many are close to the limit, and how many have overstayed. All of this allows you to find the beach area that best suits your needs, providing access to historical occupancy data by day of the week and time slot. The app would even allow local councils to manage fines related to stays that do not comply with the regulations."
