Soltel and the University of Seville create the first chair in Spain on Artificial Intelligence and Public Law

The University of Seville and Soltel have signed an agreement for the creation of the Soltel Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Public Law, the first in Spain specializing in the study of the legal implications of artificial intelligence in the field of Public Law, and in particular Administrative Law.

This chair was established with the aim of promoting research, training, and knowledge transfer related to the application of advanced technologies in public administration. The planned lines of work include:

  • The organization of conferences and thematic workshops focused on the regulation of AI and its legal challenges.

  • The development of joint research between the University and Soltel.

  • The implementation of external internships for law students in Soltel's technological projects.

  • The creation of LegalTech tools that promote the ethical and safe use of artificial intelligence in the public sector.

The professor Antonio José Sánchez SáezProfessor of Administrative Law and Director of the Department of Administrative Law at the University of Seville, will be the first holder of the chair, whose appointment is scheduled for November.

During the signing ceremony, the rector of the University of Seville, Miguel Ángel CastroHe emphasized that this initiative "will benefit both the university and the Faculty of Law and will contribute to the advancement of AI in the legal field." For his part, the CEO of Soltel, Julio Miguel Pérez LópezHe emphasized the importance of this collaboration as an example of the value that the connection between the business sector and academic excellence brings.

The creation of this chair reinforces Soltel's commitment to the responsible development of artificial intelligence, the advancement of legal technology, and the promotion of talent. It is part of a broader strategy of collaboration with the academic community, which includes initiatives such as the Master's Program in Law and Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, organized in collaboration with the University of Seville, the University of Granada, and the International University of Andalusia.
