An incentive of €5,070.00 has been received from the Innovation and Development Agency of Andalusia IDEA, of the Junta de Andalucía, co-financed 80% by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund ERDF, for the execution of the project "Advice for the presentation of the WetWatchNet project to the Iberoreka call (CDTI)", with the objective of promoting technological development, innovation and quality research.
The project
The requested project contemplates the design, development and prototyping of a tool that will rely on Big Data analysis instruments, the use of an exhaustive set of information sources of all kinds descriptive of the domain and the use of mobility solutions with which to articulate an instance of Citizen Science.
This Citizen Science initiative will allow volunteer citizens to play a decisive role in the study, prevention, and management of these wetlands, a particularly vulnerable type of ecosystem. The project is designed to address the monitoring and smart management needs of these ecosystems in both Europe and South America, where the specific management practices differ significantly from those typically found in the European Union.
