Driven by the Digital Agency of Andalusia (ADA), the Andalusian Regional Government has launched JuntaGPT, an innovative conversational assistant based on generative artificial intelligence, designed to improve the efficiency of public employees in an agile, secure and digitized administration model.
The advisor for the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz presented this innovative tool in Cádiz. developed by Soltel Group in collaboration with NTT Data, this makes Andalusia the first Spanish autonomous community to have a system similar to the popular ChatGPT for internal use by its officials.
What is JuntaGPT?
This is an internal initiative whose main objective is improve the productivity of public officials, facilitating the processing of documentation, analysis of information and creation of texts using natural language in a simple and secure way.
JuntaGPT relies on the infrastructure of Hercules Supercomputer, it is located at the Andalusian Scientific Computing Center (CICA) and runs on NVIDIA graphics computing nodes. It uses the open model Gemma 3 (27 billion parameters), from the Gemini family, enabled to operate fully within the Board's network, thus guaranteeing digital sovereignty, data security and privacy. This configuration allows response times of less than 300ms, even with multiple users connected simultaneously.
Key features of JuntaGPT
- Natural language queries: It allows you to ask about regulations, procedures and processes, with clear and immediate answers.
- Document management: It supports the uploading and analysis of multiple documents in different formats, facilitating access to relevant information without the need to upload files manually.
- Continuity of conversation: maintains context between questions, optimizing chained interaction flows.
- Writing and summaries: helps with everyday tasks such as writing official emails, generating summaries of documents or reports, and structuring presentations.
Security, AI governance and regulatory framework
A fundamental aspect of JuntaGPT's development has been strict compliance with regulations and ethical standards. Thus, this tool conforms to European AI Regulation and to the highest standards of adherence to ethical guidelines, following specific governance protocols for public administration.
By operating entirely on Andalusian public servers, the tool avoids dependence on commercial services such as ChatGPT and ensures that data does not leave the environment controlled by the Andalusian Regional Government.
