Soltel promotes the “Equality Days” on the occasion of March 8th

On the occasion of International Women's Day (8M), Soltel The Group has launched its "Equality Days," an event dedicated to highlighting the role of women in the technology sector and reaffirming its commitment to equal opportunities. The event, held at the company's facilities, brought together prominent professionals who shared their experiences and reflected on the remaining challenges in this area.

The importance of considering this date as a day of commemoration and reflection on feminist struggles, and not simply as a celebration, was emphasized.

 

On the other hand, the actions taken by Soltel to promote the role of women in the ICT sector were reviewed, as well as some statistical data that demonstrate the good results from these practices or outreach events, also proposed by the company, where the importance of applying these gender equality policies was conveyed, such as the recent colloquium during the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

The event, promoted by Soltel's management, was organized between the legal and equality department, led by Lola Serrano, and the communications department, headed by Álvaro García, who had the collaboration of José Miguel Ruiz, director of personnel selection, as presenter of the same, and the intervention of four great companions, who are already benchmarks in the technology sector and whose names we list below.

 

The protagonists of the colloquium

One of the highlights of the meeting was the final discussion, featuring four of Soltel's colleagues, leaders in their field, who shared their journey and vision on the present and future of women in the technology sector:

  • Pilar Merino – Project Manager at the Mobility Factory of the Ministry of Development, Territorial Articulation and Housing.
  • Eva Pérez – R&D consultant and innovation project manager.
  • María José Toribio – Legal and Technical Advisor in the area of ​​Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), in the legal field.
  • Vanessa Bautista – Project Manager, SF Agriculture Project Management.

 

After outlining their professional career paths and the potential obstacles they may have faced along the way, Both speakers and attendees from the in-person and online formats discussed some successes and actions to be taken to continue moving towards greater equity in the sector. The conversation was reinforced by the intervention of Lola Serrano, head of the Legal Department, who resolved some doubts and highlighted interesting aspects of current regulations on equality.

Commitment to the future

The Equality Days at Soltel reinforce the importance of a gender perspective as a central pillar of company policies. Thus, as before, the organization is committed to continuing to implement actions that guarantee equal opportunities, giving visibility to female talent, which undoubtedly has the same value as male talent in the technology sector.
