What is there to be proud of?

I was reflecting on everything that had happened during the year and taking stock. It's been a bittersweet year for Soltel.

On the bright side: we have been awarded the best innovative company of the year; we have opened an office in Mexico; we have grown in projects with BPM technologies (BonitaSoft), mobility (iOS and Android) and Virtualization (vmware); we have formally created an R&D department to activate more funds in this type of project and innovate in our products; we have sold the e-democracy product to the Seville City Council, which will soon be launched throughout the city.

On the downside: most of the clients and projects that came from public administrations have dried up, leaving only a few. Some of our technicians, who hadn't updated their skills over the years, were left without projects, and we've had to lay off colleagues for the first time in Soltel's 10-year history. We were able to retain other technicians as a thank you for their commitment to the company or for keeping up with technological advancements.

The end of this very tough year is promising because, despite the adversities of the global economy, we are holding our own.

But what we are most proud of is not the achievements or the awards we have won, but:

- to have gone 10 years without owing A SINGLE EURO TO ANYONE, neither suppliers nor employees.

- to have gone 10 years without ANY JUDICIAL SANCTION.

-To have spent 10 years keeping in their jobs the PEOPLE who truly DESERVE IT.

In short: Always keep your word.

This is what we are proud of, and unfortunately, few companies can boast of this. Perhaps at Soltel, we live by ethical values that are unique for our times, but this is what we are PROUD of.
