SOLTEL joins the European project C-SERVEES: Activating Circular Services in the Electrical and Electronic Sector

C-SERVEES aims to To promote a resource-efficient circular economy in the electrical and electronic (E&E) sector by developing, testing, validating and transferring new circular economy business models (CEBMs) based on systemic eco-innovative services These include: the green leasing of EEE (electrical/electronic equipment), product customization, improved management of WEEE (recycled equipment), and ICT services to support other eco-services. ICT tools will be developed as the driving force behind the proposed eco-innovative services to fully leverage the potential and synergies of two major revolutions of our time: the circular economy and Industry 4.0. Thus, the project will contribute to transforming the E&E sector into a circular and Industry 4.0 sector, creating new opportunities for end users (such as their participation in design or access to a product as a service) and for the social and solidarity economy (carried out by NGOs, such as EMAUS, which employ people at risk of social exclusion to repair and prepare REEE for reuse)The techno-economic, environmental and social viability of the new CEBMs will be validated through demonstrations that will deal with four products belonging to different EEE categories: large household appliances, computer equipment, telecommunications equipment and consumer equipment.

Soltel joins the consortium as an ICT company in charge of developing a collaborative tool for information exchange between different actors in the value chain during the life cycle of the different EEEThe platform developed by Soltel will be a controlled communication channel that allows producers to share useful information for the different phases of an electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) lifecycle, from repair and disassembly manuals to information on specific components relevant to equipment recycling, such as the composition of certain components or the presence of any special or hazardous substances. Communication will be bidirectional, so that producers receive feedback on the impact of their initiatives within the circular economy.
