ABC reports today, through its Agriculture pages, on the Hypatia project (HYperspectral Precision Agriculture based on Tracked Information for Andalusian crops), led by professors Carlos León de Mora and Julio Barbancho from the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Seville, and which has Soltel IT Solutions as a partner and the collaboration of the Regulatory Council of the PGI Manzanilla and Gordal de Sevilla.

ABC highlights that the olive grove in Espartinas, Seville, is the setting for this project applying new technologies, and that its implementation period ends on December 31 of this year. This work, promoted by Soltel, continues a previous project applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and blockchain technologies in the agricultural sector.

Following the analysis of the past campaign, the images have been processed and interpreted through an App that provides farmers with information on the state of the crop and when it is recommended to proceed with harvesting.
