{"id":9186,"date":"2017-03-15T19:13:25","date_gmt":"2017-03-15T19:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.soltel.es\/?p=2373"},"modified":"2017-03-15T19:13:25","modified_gmt":"2017-03-15T19:13:25","slug":"soltel-colabora-en-el-desarrollo-de-un-sistema-de-monitorizacion-por-imagen-de-la-calidad-de-aguas-residuales-2-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.soltel.es\/en\/soltel-colabora-en-el-desarrollo-de-un-sistema-de-monitorizacion-por-imagen-de-la-calidad-de-aguas-residuales-2-2\/","title":{"rendered":"SOLTEL collaborates in the development of an image monitoring system for wastewater quality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The quality requirements that wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) must meet are regulated by increasingly strict legislation, so analytical methods are needed to monitor the quality of the discharge from the treatment plants in real time.<\/p>\n<p>The project called \u201cImage Control of the Quality of Wastewater Treatment Plant Discharges\u201d (CONTRIMAG) aims to develop a comprehensive system based on the application of imaging techniques that allows detailed, real-time, and low-cost information on the quality of water treated in wastewater treatment plants.<\/p>\n<p>The application of optical techniques in general, and imaging techniques in particular, presents an interesting challenge in the field of wastewater, since wastewater can interact with radiation through absorption by dissolved compounds or scattering by suspended particles. The potential of this technique has already been demonstrated in seawater quality assessment, but to date, there is no comprehensive solution that can autonomously perform the entire process\u2014from image acquisition to interpretation and remote transmission\u2014in the wastewater sector.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2246 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.soltel.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/contrimag.jpg\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The goal is to develop a low-cost, vision-based technology that allows for continuous evaluation of effluent quality and adapts the plant's operation to the specific needs of each moment. The system is expected to improve both the operating costs of wastewater treatment plants and the quality and efficiency of water use.<\/p>\n<p>The project is already under development and is being supported by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.idi.mineco.gob.es\" target=\"_blank\">Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness<\/a> and co-financed with ERDF funds, within the Challenges-Collaboration call of the State Program for Research, Development and Innovation Oriented to the Challenges of Society, within the framework of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2013-2016. The project has an approved eligible budget of \u20ac541,091.30 for all participating companies, with SOLTEL receiving a grant of \u20ac4,312.00 and a subsidized loan of \u20ac113,829.95.<\/p>\n<p>The project is led by CONSULNIMA, a company focused on Environmental Consulting and Engineering.
