On May 3rd, the Pablo de Olavide University (UPO) of Seville organized the first Workshop for the co-construction of the Olavide Dual model, an initiative that seeks to improve student employability and foster collaboration between the university and the business sector<\/strong>For this project, they had several collaborating companies and entities, including the Soltel Group.<\/p>\n

What is the Olavide Dual model?<\/h2>\n

Led by the rector of the Pablo de Olavide University, Francisco Oliva Bl\u00e1zquez, and the general director of Employability and Entrepreneurship, Amapola Povedano D\u00edaz, the Olavide Dual model is a teaching methodology that It combines academic training with work experience in companies and institutions<\/strong>, with the aim of preparing students for the world of work and improving their employability.<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to give students the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom in a real work environment, acquiring professional skills and competencies in companies such as Soltel, a leading technology and software development company, is once again investing in talent and will repeat the experience in future workshops.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Objectives and advantages of the workshop<\/h2>\n

The 1st Workshop for the co-construction of the Olavide Dual model was created with the objective of generate shared knowledge<\/strong> among the agents that are part of the learning ecosystem in the DUAL Teaching Model, for the building a valid and successful model<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event involved sharing an analysis of the current situation for the development of the Dual Education Model, identifying the needs and demands of companies and entities, evaluating available resources, defining objectives, and identifying obstacles and opportunities.<\/p>\n

The DUAL training program, in which Soltel participates, combines theoretical and practical training for students<\/strong> and it has numerous advantages:<\/p>\n

  1. Greater connection between the academic world and the world of work.<\/li>\n
  2. We understand the importance of offering opportunities to the professionals of tomorrow, as well as having the best talent among our employees.<\/li>\n
  3. Possibility of gaining work experience while studying, which facilitates the transition to the labor market.<\/li>\n
  4. Double degree:<\/strong> Students who complete dual training receive an academic degree and a work experience certificate.<\/li>\n
  5. Greater adaptation to the needs and demands of the labor market<\/strong>since companies participate in the design of the training plan.<\/li>\n
  6. Possibility of training students according to the specific needs of companies, which facilitates the hiring of qualified personnel.<\/li>\n
  7. Promoting entrepreneurship, as students can acquire knowledge and skills to create their own businesses.<\/li>\n
  8. Greater satisfaction and motivation of students by feeling valued and trained in a real work environment.<\/li>\n
  9. Reduction of the school dropout rate, since dual training offers a more attractive training alternative for young people seeking a practical and applied education.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
