We are looking for a programmer with 4 years of experience in ACME technology.
ACME isn't really a technology, or at least not one we're familiar with, but the phrase above illustrates what young people see on job portals when they're finishing their formal education. Of course, if they're finishing their studies, they don't yet have experience, neither with ACME nor with any other technology, and if they can't enter the job market, they also won't be able to acquire the experience they need. It's a vicious cycle.
At SOLTEL, we are committed to transforming this vicious cycle into a virtuous one. For us, attracting talent and shaping it in our own image has become a strategic priority. If young people have the capacity to learn, a desire to improve, and a character that allows them to work effectively in teams, experience with a particular technology becomes secondary. This is something we understand, and something we can teach.
With this aim in mind, we designed the training course we run every year at SOLTEL. We select people with the aforementioned qualities, usually in their final years of university or high school, but not necessarily, and we offer them training with a strong practical component for three months. We want to emphasize that, under no circumstances, do students work on projects that generate profit for the company. In other words, there is no profit derived from their work, only investment. Our senior technicians (our Jedi Masters) need to dedicate time to answering questions from apprentices (Padawans) and helping them improve. During this period, they are not only taught the most in-demand languages, frameworks, and IDEs on the market, but we also place special emphasis on business methodologies and procedures.

As soon as the apprentices are ready to work on a real, productive project, they become permanent staff members with a salary and a promising career path. We always emphasize that we don't want apprentices, but rather senior professionals, so it's a real joy for us when the apprentices are ready to join our team and can help train new Padawans in the future. This completes the virtuous cycle.
This year, we've decided to allow Padawans to share their thoughts on this training. Throughout the year, they'll be publishing a series of posts linked here. We'll also include a post at the end from a former Padawan, now a Jedi Master, giving them the opportunity to share their journey to achieving their current status.
